Smoking.....



First of all the act of smoking is portrayed in a very positive and an attractive way in the media through films and other entertainment programmes. This is actually done intently to draw the viewers into watching these types of programmes. However, it does not show the downside of smoking and even throughout the decade of the film industry, smoking has been made to look sexy and bad and these characteristics are what the majority of people or youngsters find attractive. From the lecture i have been made aware of the increased influence that the media has on the public, especially youngsters as they look at the media for thier main source of information.
